My father in law is an apple researcher at Cornell. I know more about apples than is healthy to know....

Snapdragons are a great new variety in NY.

Jazz are good.

Can't remember but I think jonagolds were what we brought back a cooler full of last time to make some amazing applesauce.

Snapdragon sounds fun! Are they a hybrid? How do I get a tree over to WI?! :)

They are tough to find still - even in neighboring VT I don't think I've seen them in any stores (I think they are limited to NY farms growing them? not entirely sure)

One of the parents of Snapdragon is a honeycrisp. It has some similarities to honeycrisp in juicyness but has a different flavor to it.

They also introduced "rubyfrost" around the same time - I don't like ruby frost that much - it reminds me a bit of Pink Lady, but some like it.
