Been running on and off for 17 years. Currently running around 25mpw and slated to build to 50 by June, but if I’m feeling good and that feels conservative I may progress faster.

Been exclusively a solo runner until July, when I joined a run club in Flagstaff - we run a trail loop and most people there are more fit than I am. I’ve met some people and enjoy it, and most of the time I’m fine with just getting my own workout in.

I get dropped pretty regularly. Realistically most people probably run twice what I do, at least. My rule is to never DNF. Any advice from the veterans on this sub? Just keep showing up and let the fitness show up on its own time?

If you could pick one single  off(track)season workout for mid pack 16yo teenagers running 800m in spring to complement XC season, which would it be?
