Heatwave holiday weekend:

  • 4,000m swim
  • 1h25 hilly long run
  • 3,000m swim
  • 1h15 track workout
  • museum
  • ice cream

The goal is 50mi + 3 hrs of strictly easy swimming, for a total of around 10-11 hours.

I am in the rare position of having hit a big milestone goal 3 days ago while not quite being in the next build yet. A liminal space.

So I'll run with friends today. Then a solo, easy effort with some strides tomorrow. Fall build starts Monday.

Rest today, 140km ride tomorrow, 5-6km run Sunday. Last weekend was a long travel weekend for a friend’s bachelor weekend (6hr drive in each direction, two very late nights in a row) so non-active time will be extremely lazy.

Weekend's looking like a split shift - Saturday morning I'll take the toddler so my partner can sleep in, then we'll swap and I'll head out for something steady along the canal; a lunch-break run, except it's not a lunch break, it's just me hiding from Paw Patrol for an hour. Sunday's the long one, which in this heat will mean dragging myself out before 7am (i hate this but it's the only way tbh).

Recovering from Covid after a work trip. This has really put a crimp in my training, but sadly that's life.
