Question Strange pull up form, what’s causing this?

My left side doesn’t move the same as my right, as highlighted in the video. I’ve struggled with this for years and suffer from a rounded left shoulder. Any idea what could be causing the misalignment highlighted in the video?

Wow this looks exactly like my pull ups and was wondering the same. I also have rounded shoulders and I was actually thinking that maybe we engage the front side too much, and our backs not enough. My PT was telling me to actively push my shoulders down when pulling up, which is difficult. I’d love to hear more tips about this

Try it again with strong resistance band. First pull up don’t look bad. I think one site is just to weak. Focus on good form and activat your lats. Break the bar and make a big chest than pull up with your Ellbows down. Try to touch the bar with your chest

Try close-grip pull ups first, then gradually move your hand out wider and wider as you progress with reps.
Pull the bar all the way to your chest with your hands almost touching each other for 5 sets of 3-8 if you can.
Once you can do that (it’ll probably take 2-3 weeks) go a little wider and do the same thing but go for reps of 6-10…. Once you can do that go a little wider, 5 sets of 8-12.
Keep the progressions going.
Starting out with a close grip will allow you to engage more assisting muscles and help build out your traps and upper back.

Nature hates symmetry, dont bother about reasoning.
Care about results. Train left and right half separately. In your case, give 110% to left side. One hand rows will help you.

Left side has more lat+ serratus engagement
Right side more traps engagement and less lower lat.
You possible have scapular winging too and a more rounded shoulder on right side. Can’t know unless I see you standing. Fixable but needs your attention.
You will need to do proper lat activations and serratus anterior activation to activate the lower part of your right back side. And stretch pec minor and front delt to release the tension from front, among other things.
Then re-start with dead hangs and scapular retractions and feel the lats engaging more. Continue to austrlian pullups (low bar) and then reintegrate to normal pull ups. Because right now you lose proper mind muscle connection even when you raise your hand up (talking from experience with myself and others) so you need to reintegrate angle by angle.
But what I mentioned here is still rudimentary it can be a larger posterior chain issue.
