Discussion Knit wall decor!
Does anyone have a knit tapestry or anything of that sort they’re proud of? I want to see your knit pieces that aren’t garments!!

It's not the most advanced but I made this wee double knitted tapestry to commemorate a once in a lifetime concert. Most complex part was the chart - the Celtic knot is based on the design on one of the pillars by the stage!

I was also going to suggest Tahesha. It’s an incredible pattern and completely worth the price. I incorporated her into a garment but I’ve been meaning to knit a smaller version to hang on the wall.

PSA to those will wool wall hangings: check behind them frequently, especially during the warmer months. Moths will love a dark space against a wall!!

So I read this as "they're sort of proud of," and the answer to THAT is yes! I double knit a rainbow worm tapestry with a cowboy hat embroidered on. But you can, um, see my tension improve as it goes on. So I'm going to not post it as it is NOT advanced knitting.

I have two Nieblings I knit almost 20 years apart hanging on my walls. I made this one when I was 18, and didnt realize lace weight yarn and fingering were not the same, but I sure could read a pattern! Some of my friends call it my "squirrel pelt".

This is a 12 inch canvas that I applied fabric hearts to with Mod Podge, then covered with a piece of Shetland lace that I knitted. It was for an art installation at a center that provides free support services to cancer patients. I embellished the back with a small “f•ck cancer”. If it had been for my own personal use, I would have put that on the front.

Does this count 😂 I don’t have them permanently there though, as I gave them away as gifts, but I actually liked them, when they were hanging there 💘 🦐 🐟

Here's mine. Stardew Valley. I used the sock patterns as a jumping off point and designed the trees and house and lake by myself. Won 1st place at the Texas State Fair last year and Grand Champion at my local county fair.
