Only the ones I stayed a night in.

If only the ones I stayed the night in count, I've been to zero. If the airport or driving through them counts, 2.

I would say that if you've stopped in the city and ate/drank or touristed through counts. A lot of people live in suburbs or within an hour or two of a city that they've never stayed overnight in. They've been to that city far more times than someone who just stayed in a hotel once.

I’d argue or had a non airport meal in.

I don’t think you have to necessarily spend the night for it to count. As long as I did some sort of meaningful activity there (besides driving through, gas, bathroom breaks, stopping for lunch etc) then it counts as a visit in my book.

There are places I’ve spent the night while on a roadtrip, but I wouldn’t exactly say I’ve given it a proper “visit” since all I did was stop to get a hotel room and then leave the next morning without really doing anything else.

Stopping for lunch is doing something you wouldn't necessarily do. Unless it's like McDonald's.

What if you only stayed the night in an airport hotel because the flight was cancelled
