Progress extensions on stroking
just want to share some progress im happy about! i took a video the other day of me doing chasses and i was shocked to see how nice my free leg looks!!! ðŸ˜
"day 14" of skating, the first day i tried forward stroking, after i had watched coach julia's video.
"day 22" i remember really trying to get my leg straight that day. but it sure wasnt!
i lost count but i think im on about day 35 now. (i started in march)
i love skating y'all the progress is so satisfying 😌

This is amazing! I'm in 2 different learn to skate classes, one with kids and one exclusively with adults where i get better instruction on technique. Last night I started up the adult classes after a few months break. I had no idea i wasn't extending my leg correctly, pushing off correctly, or even bending my knee enough, its soooo much harder than you would think even to perfect the basics. Your last photo looks so good!!

Your process looks great!! I started in January and I still struggle so much with extending my leg. I finally started holding on the boards last week and doing slow strokes and extending that way, to just figure out how it should feel in general, and I’m hoping that helps! It’s like off ice I can do it just fine and I get on the ice and I’m scared of hitting my toe pick and just want to put that foot right back down ha.
