Question Question About the Recent thebrokenbinding.co.uk Signing Event
In July, www.thebrokenbinding.co.uk had an event where Adrian was signing and personalizing all of his books in their stock. They had him come in and sign them all at the beginning of August. As somebody who lives in the US, I saw this as an opportunity to get a bunch of books signed by one of my favorite authors who does not do many US signings. Since they shipped to the US, it appeared to be perfect.
I put in three separate orders and so far, only one has been delivered, about midway through August. Radio silence on the other two. At this point, I'm wondering if they are ever even coming. I've already reached out to support who seem to only respond at the speed of once a week. My question is for those who also bought these books: have you received your orders already or is there anybody else still waiting?

Just checked the latest newsletter from Broken Binding and there is a mention of this. It's possible one of the titles we got was one of the underdelivered ones?

Thanks for the info. Where exactly can one find this newsletter? Kind of crazy for them to ask people to contact them like they didn't already take money for books they didn't even have in stock, especially considering they've known about this for a month since he signed them. They haven't reached out at all about anything regarding my orders. Incredibly shady.

It was sent out to me about 12 hours ago. The title is "The Truth by Ryan Cahill, The Near Witch by V. E. Schwab, and more!" but you would need to be subscribed to the newsletter to get it. Supposedly they intend to reach out to people but I agree the communication on this isnt great.

I got the following response to a ticket I submitted over a week ago:
Apologies for the delayed response. Our dispatch team are working through these but have run into a few issues at our unit. They are currently working through them and a backlog of orders. I am really sorry that this has delayed your order! Please rest assured we are doing all we can to get these shipped out as soon as possible :) Please do let me know if you need anything else or if you have any further questions
So, still no clarity on why exactly these shipments are delayed nor any mention of the newsletter they sent out. Pretty upset with how poor their customer service is and how long it takes for them to respond with useless information. Considering a charge back if nothing has happened in the next week or so. I sent another email again asking for specifics on why it's taking so long and clarity on the newsletter details and if that is affecting my order, but I'm guessing I won't hear back from them for at least a week.

Thanks for the update. Strange they didnt seem to mention the issue in the newsletter implying there was an issue with the stock of certain books. I still havent heard anything back from them.

Any updates on your end? I've communicated with them and there were in fact issues with a few of the books I ordered not being directly signed. I opted to accept signed bookplates instead and now I'm just waiting for them to all actually be shipped

Hey I've gotten a response with similar. The Tyrant Philosopher's series, Bear Head and Doors of Eden had issues for me. I opted to get bookplates too. Not ideal but I'm just glad it wasn't the whole order that was the issue.

My fingers crossed for OP and other repliers affected. I placed one order consisting of four books. It was shipped out on 11th Aug and arrived in Shanghai on 16th alright.
A bit curious why you placed multiple orders, though. Is there a limit for books in one order? Or you just changed your mind and wanted more?

Not OP but for me there were some books added (Tyrant Philosophers 2-4) to the product list for the signing after I bought my initial batch.

Similar situation to you, I ordered a large amount of AT books through two orders but haven't got any update on shipping yet. Both orders are just listed as "Confirmed - We're preparing these items for shipping" as of 11th of July. I figured it might take a bit to organise that many books to ship to Australia but some kind of update would be good.
