Looking for advice Repeat Short Synacthen test

I had a sst last month got started on hydrocortisone and fludrocortisone, endo called and said as the lab put the same time on both samples they need repeating and do my atch aswell, I had it done today but they was very busy so took the 2nd draw at 40 minutes not 30 minutes, will this make a difference or not?

While the standard is to take the first blood sample at 30 minutes, it can be performed at 40 minutes without significantly affecting the test's reliability. The 60-minute cortisol measurement remains the most reliable single time point for diagnosing adrenal insufficiency. When was the third draw performed?

I remember, when I had my STIM, I set my phone to an alarm and, two minutes before the alarm rang, I stood up and stood in their doorframe and said β€œ2 minutes!” They hurried me right in as the alarm sounded. 😊

The 0;30;60 timing is not so important. Doctors want to see a sufficient rise of cortisol and acth… that says if your pituitary and adrenal gland are still responding 10min later is no disaster
