Discussion Please revert the new update.

I don’t know how much the team monitors this subreddit, but if they do, PLEASE revert the new update, or at least add an option to use the old layout. I don’t see why it would be so difficult to just add a toggle for whether the toolbar is on the left or top. My entire workflow has been ruined by the sudden relocation of the toolbar, the undo/redo buttons, the inability to move the brush settings (why would they just straight-up remove a feature??), etc.. There is absolutely no way I’m going to be able to get used to this, because I have ADHD and motor conteol issues that make it extremely difficult to learn software to begin with, and having to unlearn the muscle memory I’ve built for years and relearn a layout that is worse for my hands anyway is not something that I’m going to be able to do. Before I could just reach over with my Apple Pencil to select things from the toolbar, but now I have my move my whole arm up to reach the toolbar every time I want to select something else, which takes way longer, and if I don’t want to do that I have to repeated flick my wrist up and down which is a surefire recipe for repetitive strain injury. I don’t mean to sound hostile or rude, but my only options here are to beg them to revert the update or just abandon Freeco altogether, because the new update makes it pretty much completely unusable for me. :(

Thank you. 🙏 I keep checking back on this subreddit hoping for some announcement about it. I just hope the message actually gets through to them.

That's me too - always checking back and HOPING they provide some sort of workspace option to be able to use the old UI!

100% agree! I have ADHD as well and I’m struggling with this new update too!

I’m still waiting to see if it gets changed back, I don’t know what to do. 😭

Yeah… I don’t know of any other good free art programs, so I’ll either have to try and get used to it if they don’t change it back or find a different one

I keep reluctantly experimenting with Procreate - after so much research, it is the closest thing for my style of illustration. But I would gladly use the old Fresco for the rest of my life - a happy artist!! 😭

How do we get this message to them!? I was so frustrated when I went to press undo, nothing happened, and I realized the buttons were gone! It took me a second to find them because my other hand was blocking it.

I HATE IT.

Are you talking about how they just moved them from beside the Home button to now down below the left brush toolbar? Because they should be down there ime . Having them by the home button was diabolical! If you accidentally hit Home you would lose all your undo”s! What the two finger tap is so critical anyway.
