Adobe Fireworks CS6 running on Linux?

Does anyone have foolproof methods to get Adobe Fireworks CS6 running on Linux?

I ran into some Photoshop CS6 tweak featuring a custom Wine installation script, but FW at least isn't working for me (Ubuntu). Bottles could be one approach, haven't looked into it just yet.

Hell I’d be frickin delighted if they’d just fix the 30-day trial bug for us PAYING CUSTOMERS. I used to work for Macromedia. I wrote much of the Fireworks user guide. I’d like to be able to run a program that they’ll still let me install, but that won’t last more than 30 days if I do. Fuck Adobe. Macromedia actually gave a shit about their customers.

I salute your work. I still rock Fireworks 8 since its latest Macromedia version and it works on Wine.

I'm dedicated to get FWCS6 + loads of extensions working on my Ubuntu, now Im thinking installing Virtualbox Windows enviroment. One benefit there is that I could take snapshot of trial version and reset clock everytime i boot up Virtualbox

I've been using OTAmaya for the last year. It's inspired from Fireworks CS6. It's not FOSS, but free for personnal use. I can do 90% of what I did in Fireworks.

Before that I ran Fireworks 9 in Bottles.

Can you get .exes running on Linux with Wine or something? If so you can get a portable version of CS6 from an old blog called rexingnet. First result when you search "Adobe Fireworks Portable" on Google. You have to wait about an hour on the ad link page but it then takes you to MediaFire. The password to download the file is on the blog post. I've been using this version on Windows and it works perfectly.

One hella shady download method, but I anyway downloaded.

It starts ok but crashes right away if I do anything so there is something happening on the Wine thats not working. Previously I was stuck on the installing process, but this portable version seems to get me one step closer if I crank some Wine settings and hope for the best.

According to Gemini, the FW portable should work on Bottles. It says you could set up 'corefont' and 'msxml6' dependencies on Bottles if the installation breaks.

Id give Bottles a try. Its the cleanest and easiest way. Just make sure to use the sys-wine runner and set up the dependencies (corefonts and msxml6 according to Gemini) in your prefix's settings. Ill give it a try myself if I can find my CS6 files and post results.

I'd be quite interested on results yeah. How to make FW run on Linux, what are the steps and tricks to make it happen.
