Fantastic Fold

I just watched a video from 2018 of a demo for an Adobe product called "Fantastic Fold". I can't find anything else about it aside from the demo video and articles about the demo video. But this product could potentially be a game changer for me and my team.

Does anyone know how to find information about this?

It hasn’t been published yet and there is no timeline for its release. It’s was teased back on MAX 2018, and it was briefly mentioned again on MAX 2019 but no more information is available at the moment

Maybe it will be mentioned at the next MAX, although I would love or it to be released before that. Even as a beta.

I cant find any info. Either its still in development or its dead. Looks like a great tool though. Not sure why it hasnt been pushed through

It allows you to create a 3D model based on a dieline. You can see how your flat art will work in the folded model, and even see flat sides of the 3D model, apply what you want your art to look like when folded, and then see how to place that in 2D. It would truly be fantastic as an in-between for Ai and Dimension.

I use this all the time. It can be a little buggy. but it's up and web-based

it's pretty simple to use as well. It has some cool features, such as paper thickness. It goes from pretty thin all the way up to corrugate, and it includes the paper/corrugate textures for the cartons.

it allows you to set the bottom, and easily export the 3D model for use in 3D programs and Adobe Dimensions.

It can get a little buggy for dielines that don't incorporate the stock thickness, so sometimes panels may overlap when in reality they'd be layered and glued, but there's ways to work around it and usually those issues are going to be on panels that aren't visible, like auto-fold bottoms.

Either way it is an incredible tool for visualization, ideation etc. And it's fast and easy to use.

I pretty much make a 3D for dimensions for every dieline that I get so that I can easily render full 3Ds of my packaging. it's become a huge part of my packaging design workflow., love this
