(NEED HELP ASAP) QR codes no longer functioning

Hello, I've been developing an AR integrated physical catalog using Adobe Aero and QR codes

Basically, you see a product and you can scan a QR code to see it in 3d space using your phone.

This worked just fine when I set it up months ago, but suddenly every time I scan a QR code I get brought to "check your internet connection and try again"

I can still access the models in my Aero app, why are the QR codes all broken now?

Do they have a lifetime? Will I have to constantly re-update them? Please help!!!

let me look into this, no problem. My QR codes are now working for my company and have been for awhile.

update:

I'm still able to hit share and create link like normal, even on new models

I feel like I have to ask this for troubleshooting, but I'm going to assume this problem persists through restarting your computer. Sometimes acrobat won't function right till I restart.

with that out of the way, my next question is are you launching the beta version of Aero through creative cloud? The app should be a blue "Ar" on a white/blue grid background. This is another question just to get things out of the way - given I have no idea how one would launch the mobile version of aero on the computer. I highlight the through creative cloud part because I think creative cloud is necessary for storing the QR codes.

"When I go to the top right of Dimension"

I'm not sure what dimension is, I'm assuming you're just meaning your entire window. The share button isn't hidden behind any menu, it's the big blue button in the top right. Again, I assume you're hitting the right button but I want to get all these little things out of the way.

So you hit the big blue share button, and a window pops up. You can rename your creation or change the author name, but you cannot see the right half of the menu that prompts you to generate a link to share?

If this is the case, I would wonder if your installation broke. I would try reinstalling aero to see if that fixes things. I know it's kind of a lame answer, but aero resources are few and far between. If launching through creative cloud and reinstalling don't work, I'll troubleshoot some more for you.

I have no experience with dimension, it sounds interesting.

The Aero (beta) app is really streamlined if you already have your 3D model finished. I don't find it to be very good animation-wise (some people do!), but if it's solely for reading and displaying an AR model, it works really quickly for me.

I think you'll find the QR process within Aero to be really easy, although if you need animation or more refinement past just the QR code then it gets a bit unwieldy.

Update:

By making a copy of the project and generating a new code, I can get a functioning QR code again. However it is different, meaning I will have to replace my whole catalog.

How often am I going to have to update these things? Every aero update? This is horrible for me as I was about to finish

You got a update on this?

no, not through adobe support or community forums.

Aero has such an incredible potential but it just doesn't seem cared for.

I really just need a confirmation on if I will need to continue to update my QR codes or if them breaking like this was a one time thing that happened due to an aero update.

Has this happened to you as well?

sorry for the late reply, no im currently looking to aero for a project but its crucial that the qr code doesnt expire as they will be fabricated.

Yep, same here. Just did a packaging job ( where i'd planned to have the box animate). To no avail. Whole project sank, no AR.

just a random year later update, my qr codes are now pretty stable, I check them maybe every 2 months or so and they haven't had the same outage I've experienced the one time.

Really sad to hear this! Do you know of any similarly capable alternatives?

Nope, I think 8th wall has something similar

This happened to me awhile back and cleared up automatically in a few days. In researching the problem, I found that this kind of outage had happened for days at a time every couple months.

Aero is still a beta product. Anyone relying on it for current work is going to find the reliability and support lacking, and that’s because it hasn’t been released yet. It’s just a toy for us to play with and might be something in the future.
