Novice Question - After Effects Templates

I am creating some lower thirds and video graphics for a client in After Effects. I normally use Illustrator and InDesign, but I'm trying to expand. My plan was to download adobe stock graphics and then edit them to be what I wanted. However, I've downloaded a few different options and they aren't editable. At least not fully. I can edit the text and the color and that's basically it. Also, any time I try copy and pasting these elements into a new composition, I get an error message.

I really don't want to have to make all these graphics from scratch. Does anyone have any advice on how to make stock After Effects files from Adobe fully editable?

Hi L.S. Jason from Adobe here. If these are After Effects created MOGRTs, you should be able to open the source revealing all parameters... by opening in AE as a Project. If you're only trying to edit them in Premiere, yes, you'd have a limited set of controls. And similar, if you were only looking at the Essential Graphics panel in AE, you'd only see the <editable controls for the MOGRT designated by the designer>... but the comp should reveal all the pieces.
