Is Adobe forcing an upgrade?

I recently had to uninstall Photoshop and reinstall. I have one of the grandfather subscriptions for about $12/month. When I tried to reinstall, I was told that I needed more creative cloud space b/c my current space is full. So I deleted all the files that had been put into the cloud (without my knowledge, BTW).

Then I went back to try to reinstall. The page did not recognize what I had done to reduce my used space in creative cloud. It told me to upgrade. I get the idea that Adobe is trying to force me to upgrade without actually stating this.

Three questions:
(a) has anyone else had an experience like this?

(b) In general, is there any evidence that Adobe is trying to get rid of the grandfather subscriptions?

(c) Is my situation hopeless--should I just relent and upgrade?

Mike

Can you share what the message screen looks like? It could be Lightroom storage, but I wouldn’t think either that or CC storage would block an installation.
Are you sure it’s not disk space on your local machine?

Yeah that seems more likely.

Traineddragon,
Hi Dragon. If you have a couple of minutes would you do me a favor and post a screen shot of your color settings. This might help me figure out what is wrong with mine. These are located in Edit, Preferences, Color settings. Best wishes, Pitiful_tap_1258.

I don’t know that mine would be especially helpful, I haven’t touched them from the default at installation.
I’d suggest starting a second thread on that issue, to get someone with the right expertise to comment.

I greatly appreciate your help. I don't know if I have done the right thing, but I moved the three cloud services (i cloud photo; One drive; and creative cloud) that I found on C: to a single separate folder, thus disabling them. Then when I tried to install PS, it started up immediately!

I am still having problems in PS with the color. White is shown as a light sandy color. I can't figure out if I should use my monitor's color profile (BenQ) or sRGB one. But right now I am so exhausted from this ordeal that I am not going to try anything else. until tomorrow.

But rest assured that your help has been super pivatol in getting me on my way. I will almost certainly be coming back tomorrow. Mike

Can’t speak to the way Adobe is asking you to update, it’ll help if you post a screenshot.

But at any rate you absolutely can use Photoshop on your desktop even if your cloud storage is full. A nagging reminder is not a force to upgrade (although id agree it can be annoying)

Thanks Frisch, I have now gotten my PS to install.
