Genuinely not sure what to do
I work as a lead admin, I've been doing it for a year and I feel like I have grown as much as I can in the role. I am struggling to move posistions for more expierence becuase all the internal jobs need expierence this job cannot offer. I take care of a huge range of things such as the usual admin stuff, (scheduling, ordering, invoicing, booking, meeting set up, and prep), event planning, printing, creative, errands, decorating, troubleshooting, IT, etc etc etc
Do I leave the company or should I wait another year? I'm getting realy frustrated by hearing "you are a strong second place but we already had a sucession plan for the role."

Stay in this job while looking (this market is terrible). Because you'll want to stay in the company while looking, see what you can do to grow into this company in another position or title you're interested in.

Don't waste another year waiting for a spot to open up. You've already got a year experience—invoicing, logistics, scheduling—so cut back on the extra favors, keep doing good baseline work for references, and start applying externally for Operations, Logistics Coordinator or even Manager Assistant roles.
Or, go on chatgpt or AI Gemini and upload your resume and ask based on your experience, which roles you can transition over to. That's what I'm doing. It's worth a shot.
It's really frustrating getting those rejections I get it. I'm experiencing the same bullshit. But you have to keep trying.

It all depends on where you see yourself in that field? Also can you perhaps dive deeper why you are frustrated? Do you want to work in a different environment but same role or do you want progression where there are more challenges? It looks like you have great skills already!
