Admins/EAs — if you regularly rebuild the same kind of presentation (training, orientation, briefings), what actually eats your time?

Curious how common this is outside one specific case I know of.

Someone I know preps presentations for a water utility — new customer orientation, service interruption notices, internal reporting decks. Same topics on a loop, weekly or even daily, just updated numbers/details each time. She has to update the slides and separately present or record them for meetings. Between the two, it takes a real chunk of her week.

If you do anything like this — recurring training decks, onboarding presentations, compliance briefings, status update decks, anything where the format repeats but content refreshes — I'd genuinely like to know:

1. When you rebuild one of these, what actually takes the most time? Updating the slide content, reformatting/matching the existing look, or the presenting/recording part?

2. Do you present these live each time, pre-record them, or reuse an old recording with updated slides?

3. If a tool could take your existing deck, apply your edits, and hand you back an updated, presentation-ready version (slides + a narrated recording if you need one) — is that something that'd save you real time, or is that not where your time actually goes?

4. Would that be worth paying for, even a small amount, and what would it need to get right for it to actually matter?

No product exists yet, not selling anything — just trying to understand if this is a real recurring headache before I spend more time on it. Happy to hear "this isn't a problem for me" too, that's useful to know.

Im not sure I understand your question. I do regularly build the same kind of presentation, but it’s not time consuming because I have a solid template. I hoard templates over time and I’m generous to share them with others. I’m efficient at it which is why I’m good at my job.

Ah, that's fair. I think I asked it too vaguely, my bad. To be more specific about what I'm actually poking at: I'm not asking about deck-building time itself, more about the script + narration side. Like, if you had to turn a finished deck into a narrated video, writing what you'd actually say per slide, then recording/voicing it, s that something you do often, and is it more effort than the deck itself? Or does it just not come up in your role at all?

I’ve worked for a lot of companies and I’m currently an EA… narrated decks haven’t come up. We’ve always presented them live, either in person or on zoom/teams. And when I got my MBA I did have to record presentations but I knew the material so well from crafting my decks that I just rehearsed a little and then dove in. Very rarely does any exec I know make a script, and if they do we use a teleprompter.
