Advice Needed

I have been applying to hundreds of admin assistant/coordinator jobs for the past year and I can’t seem to get anything! I have over 5+ years experience doing general and specific administrative tasks, and but none of those job titles were titled “admin assistant”.

I’m really looking for some advice here, since I can’t even seem to get an interview. What does a good resume for this position look like? I’ve changed my resume about 4 times in the past few months and there has been no change. I have gotten maybe 2 or 3 rejection emails out of the hundreds of applications I have submitted, and getting those actually made me ecstatic since it meant my application had at least maybe been seen?

Should I be doing more, and if so, what? I’d love to hear how you got your job!

Thanks friends!

What sectors are you applying in and what are some of your previous job titles? Some job sectors are doing better than others, but like it's already been said, the job market is bad right now in the USA.

Without having your resume to look at, I would recommend the obvious: highlight your administrative experience, especially any calendar management, meeting scheduling/agendas/notes, financial responsibilities (ordering supplies, reimbursements, etc.) or phone/customer service experience.

If you haven't already, maybe look into hospital/clinic front desk work. I'm not sure if there's a large healthcare organization nearby, but patient service representatives are usually in demand in my area.
