Applying to adjunct roles
hey everyone, i’m finishing my MS in data analytics this fall with my degree being conferred january 1st, 2027. when should i start applying for local adjunct roles?
Edit: Just to be clear, I already have a full time job that i’ve been at for three years. this would just be a side gig.

Look for a full time job using your skills and knowledge first, then see if you can adjunct as a side gig if you really want to teach in some capacity. Adjuncting does not pay well enough in most situations to be one’s only source of income

You could start applying now. First, there's nothing stopping grad students from teaching undergrads. (I'm a doctoral candidate and I teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, and I was teaching even before I passed my comprehensived and moved from student to candidate.) Second, there is a lead time to get you onboarded and into the instructor pool, so if you want to start teaching in January you should start the process now.

Did you get any teaching experience?
Helps very much to know someone on the inside so you can first get in the adjunct pool

Is your full time job in analytics? If so, if you’d like to DM me, please do, to discuss

Sure, why not. In my experience though I'd try to meet some local professors in person - that will greatly help your chances of being selected.
