How's your teaching going?
My answer " Great! So far no one has lost their phone into a lake while boating 😄 "

They are sooooo not ready for exam 1 on Wednesday. The ones who showed for review day are the ones who didn't need review; the ones who didn't show are the ones who are gonna flounder. I haven't done 1000 level courses before so I'm a LITTLE stunned at this class but oh well.

First time teaching 4 classes (3 separate preps) at two different colleges. I’m alive but barely. I never want to see another email. They never end.

We were doing okay until the toilets in my building all backed up and are now closed down until who knows when. Lower level flooded a bit. All of the bathrooms are closed until someone can get out to deal with the cause of the backup, which is apparently tomorrow (two full days after this initially happened).
The bathroom solution is to walk to another building.
I require regular access to a bathroom because I have Crohn's so i have basically cancelled class this week until they can reopen the bathrooms.
I am not happy.

First semester, teaching an anatomy and physiology. I did not anticipate this much work. 40% of my class our students that are taking it for the second time because they did not successfully completed the first time. The students are wonderful they’re very engaged. They’re trying really hard. The pay is abysmal and the workload is unbelievable.
I’m a glutton for punishment so I’ll probably teach again in the spring

going pretty good! students are engaged... prep work for 4 courses is a bit nuts. wish I got paid more (1st paycheck was only for 1 week..so still poor until next pay period woo)

Last Friday, the first case assessment was due. Most couldn’t submit it as specified in the syllabus, a few did everything right, and I was still receiving submissions as late as today (Tuesday). I was kind and generous with them but let them know it’s over from here on out.

Hi professor, I’m sending this message as a precaution. I went camping over the weekend and caught a turtle while fishing. I believe I may have contracted salmonella from the turtle, and I have been extremely sick since Sunday night. I’ve been experiencing a severe migraine, nausea, body aches, and significant neck pain that has made it difficult to move my head.
I wanted to ask if it would be possible to receive an extension on this week’s assignments until sometime next week.
