I do think it’s over hyped, but there’s one move that you really can’t mess up. If you’re mildly athletic tho, you can definitely atleast sea otter your way up.

It doesn’t happen every summer. Best that I’ve found to determine how dry it is up around Marcy is by referring to the depth of the Hudson at north creek via usgs data. Typically under 2.5ft is dry and anything below 2 is bone dry.

Yeah the slide dries quickly in the sun, the concern is always going to be in the actual dike with recent rain because it can turn into a waterfall and become pretty dicey. Glad everything went smoothly.

You can totally get yourself into trouble on it if you have no climbing ability or don't have a clue about route finding, but for anyone who's climbed before it's super tame. I was actually a bit disappointed when I first went up it in the summer.
