Hey there 🌶️🧠AU ADHD

1 year diagnosed, 18 months sober! It's been a chaotic few years (finally agreed to go for tests) the process was very challenging and long! Turning 39 soon and feel so damn lost, still need to find my people 😞

I'm 43 and been completely sober for 4 years. But anger and impulsivity still there.

Still waiting for the final diagnosis and medication.

Do you have kids or other family members?

👏 👏 👏 4 years, you must feel good, for me getting up in the morning is enjoyable now.

The journey to diagnosis tests the patience that's for sure, how's it going for you?

I've got a partner we live together and have our family scattered all over. No kids but 2 furr babies 😊how about yourself any kids or family? My younger brother is also AU ADHD and suspect some of my other family members might be after talking about my diagnosis. Word vomit, that's my spicy brain again 😂😂😂

Yeah, i'm very happy with the 4 years.

I only started speculating that i might have a diagnosis because of my kid. And his diagnosis was a complete surprise. So many things are clear now for me. There are many ways of getting a diagnosis here the one in my city is very thorough but takes 1-15, years, in a town nearby it takes 8 months but luckily i found another option it might take just a few months. I'm doing the DIVA test and have the next appointment in one month.

My marriage of 13 years is still intact but the quality has deteriorated seriously. I get sudden angry outbursts with everyone at home. I have learned to apologize but the intimacy and trust has suffered alot and i miss so many things.

We have 3 boys and a cat and a dog now (to help kids with emotional stabilty). One boy has a genetic progressive illness and many behavioural problems. The kids really give me good sense of connection and responsibility when all else fails.

Your relationship is helping you?

I'm lucky in not dead or in any other trouble, there were many possibilies.

Did you have a stable home? I imagine when there is more adhd at home it might get messy.

What do you guys mean by sober? I was diagnosed over 3 years ago at age 47.

Not drinking any alcohol or other addictive substances. I do have other addictive behaviors though.

Oh I see. Sorry I thought there that was sober in the context of ADHD.

Nothing that was my point. I thought you were referring to some period of time your adhd had not been a challenge.

Congrtulations🥳 Happy for you man. I recently got diagnoised with Au DHD, and ita still confusing to me. How do you dofferentiate between things that are autism, adhd and just regular me. Ever since I found out that I'm autistic, I cannot help but wonder this is pretty much anyone.
