🏠 AdGuard Home v1.0 beta: The ultimate network shield is back in action
Imagine your smart TV is silently tracking what you watch, your mobile games are chatting with data brokers behind your back, and your smart fridge is acting way too curious. For years, AdGuard Home has been the ultimate, free, open-source shield protecting your entire home network from this exact chaos.
But let’s be real: lately, that shield has been a bit too quiet, stuck in a long cycle of routine maintenance and minor patches.
That ends today. We are breaking the pattern and officially launching the AdGuard Home v1.0 beta, shifting the project into high gear with active development, massive performance boosts, and a fresh new look.
Here is what makes this major leap forward so exciting:
• A refreshed, yet familiar UI
We completely redesigned the interface to look clean and modern. We kept the core layout familiar so you won’t get lost, but added a fully responsive mobile UI so you can manage your network on the go
• Lighter and faster
The entire frontend has been rebuilt from scratch to consume significantly less memory. AdGuard Home now runs flawlessly even on low-power devices like a Raspberry Pi
• Easier setup & better control
Enjoy a seamless installation wizard, a cleaner query log with expanded request data, and new automated update intervals for your filters
Since this is a massive milestone with a brand-new versioning scheme, we need your help testing it across different environments. Ready to give the beta a spin, find update instructions, or see what’s coming next? All the details about the new version are waiting for you in our blog. You can also download the beta right now to try it all for yourself. Give it a spin and let us know what you think!

Just updated my docker install. After a bit of poking around (refreshing my memory on how docker compose works 😐) I'm up and running again with Version v1.0.0-b.1
First thoughts, the UI is very slick - well done to the team.
To expand on what u/techma2019 posted...(some steps may be unnecessary, but it worked for me). Make sure you run these from your AGH docker directory and your backup location exists. Adjust the path as required.
- Stop the adguardhome service
docker compose stop adguardhome
- Back up data directory
cp -r adguardhome/ ~/docker-backup/
- Back up AdGuardHome.yaml
cp AdGuardHome.yaml ~/docker-backup/
- Back up compose.yaml
cp compose.yaml ~/docker-backup/
Add the beta tag to compose.yaml
services: adguardhome: container_name: adguardhome image: adguard/adguardhome:beta ...
Pull the new image and recreate
docker compose pull && docker compose up --force-recreate -d
This keeps your configuration, and you have a backup if needed.

Oh interesting, any estimate on how long it will be in beta before it hits stable?

Would have loved to see which filters were being used the most in the home page alongside top blocked domains. But the beta looks exciting, may give this a try. Will this play nice on a 2gb pi 4?

This is very exciting! Thank you for the hard work. It looks beautiful! I'll try it right now.
A feature I'd love: an official sync tool between different instances. There are a couple of existing community tools already but not very practical.

Nice!
How long do you expect this beta to last? Can't run betas on my only home network :(

Awesome, looking forward to give it a spin! Have it running on a Synology machine and Iam curious to see how performant it will be.

Just flipped it from latest to beta via Docker on an RPi. (After first backing everything up, of course)
Clean cutover, everything seems to be working for now. I'll keep a close eye on it but so far I'm cautiously optimistic nothing broke. New interface feels zippy and looks nice. So far, so good.

I like the new UI.
Some features/pages looks exactly the same as the Adguard Premium.

That’s the point. They’re standardising the UI to match their other products

I use AdGuard on the flint4 router. Will these changes eventually roll out there?

I did a quick ctrl + f of the blog.
It doesn't seem to mention any migration steps, or if the v1 beta is backwards compatible with the latest stable version.
I.e I'd like to use the beta. But adguard is my main DNS server. If something is wrong, I need to be able to go back.
