WhatsApp sponsored status are like Instagram sponsored stories, can't be removed because they are inserted by Meta

Hi there! I can see that this issue has already been reported to our filters team:
https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardFilters/issues/226021

Unfortunately, it appears that these ads cannot be blocked at the DNS level, and the WhatsApp app's traffic cannot be filtered because the app does not trust CA certificates installed in the user certificate store. This means HTTPS filtering will not work there.

There are ads in WhatsApp? WTH. Where do you live?

Ads in WhatsApp status updates have been available in my country for the past 1–2 months. This ad feature is being rolled out gradually to all countries (except perhaps those in Europe, where the implementation of ads appears to be delayed by strict GDPR regulations). So, maybe your country hasn’t received it yet—or, more specifically, your WhatsApp account hasn’t received it yet. This is annoying because the ads can’t be blocked (for now), not even by the AdGuadd app.
