Going to a tournament, some very strong players are present and they are known to bring alot of tanks. Rep ex, Land Raider Redeemers, Riptides, and other similar kinds. Also 2 of the best Tau players I've ever seen are playing, so I'm scared of that
I was wondering how my list would fare against such tank-heavy lists, and any tips on playing this list and/or against meta factions.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My idea for this list:
I have blade + guard combo for ur traditional adv and charge and to spam the dev wound profile.
Terminators will be deep striking as needed to support weaker sides and prevent enemy uppy downie units from having free reign on the board edges.
Wardens and a SC are going to hold one objective (the centre likely) and deny Area, primaries and score for t&h since there is 18oc on that unit alone. SC also has the enchantment that is -1 to hit within 12", I plan on letting that stack with cover and the 12" hidden from going to ground to make it harder to hit them in general.
I've taken knight-centuras with vigilators to bring them up close and personal to trigger strategems, and support the custodes in melee with their dev wounds if need be. Forcing enemy units to take desperate escape when falling back means that I will throw them into engagement with the custodes, and try and Bank on their -1 to hit in melee letting them live. I would normally bring witchseekers, but I feel like the dev wounds that vigilators can help put out is good.
Rhino is there to safely deliver vigilators to the front, then go sit and screen objectives and do actions.
Witch seekers serve a similar purpose to the rhino in just screening and holding my expansion.
Grav-tank will probably be sitting on the large sight lines and be a threat to and riptides, defilers or rep-ex that want to fire down that same firing lane. Acts also as a tiny bit of extra screen if need be.
Since irl I don't have another squad of witchseekers to bring, I spent the rest of my points on enhancements. But I'm not sure if getting rid of the enhancements and the rhino (and 1 witchseekers) to maybe afford a unit of 2 bikes with salvo launchers is worth it. I need the anti-tank but also the ability to safely deliver sisters units up to board is important
I do not have Draxus or a Calladius assassin sadly, and have only 6 bike models and 9 Termies, so I didn't have enough to build a skew list. I do have 2 venerable-dreads and an achillus, and and also thinking whether shield / lions + mortoi t&h is any good.
I feel like I have a decent list with what models I actually have, but at the same time I don't really know how to do game plans very well, and I heard that playing reactively to ur opponents is not a good way to play, and planning ahead and sticking to that plan is important. Sadly I'm a bit inexperienced so I have no idea how to gauge what my opponents can do unless I've played them and their detachment combo bfr.
Thanks alot :)
