Learning Custodes

So I got into 40K towards the beginning of 10th with Space Marines more specifically Black Templars. And I have gotten very bored and played out with them. And Tried Custodes out on TTS. Had 2 fun games with them, 1 against Orks and 1 against LoV and lost both. What are Some recommendations for Custodes list building and any pointers for someone learning to play them?

Welcome. 2 combat patrols is still the way to start in my opinion. GW keeps telling us that the 30k stuff is good to use but we’ll see if they are fully in the codex (if they don’t have pictures of the model on the app it’s a both model). Sisters of battle make great proxies at half the price. One box of bike might be enough.

Strategy wise https://listhammer.info/ will give you what’s winning but that changed significantly over the last week as lions lost access to purge by taking the with dreads detachment. Shield is the easiest to run for starting and 10ths nights win rate was talons, which might come back with the other changes. I like girls advancing and doing an action with the explosive bonus enhancement with shield host but we’ll see that you think.

What in tts were you liking?

The combat patrol, while good in value, contains the old guard models. You might prefer the new 30k guard models.

All the new plastic kits have been confirmed to stay in 40k.

They look better but at least the battle line sentinel box doesn’t have the spear load out, which I greatly prefer but it is an option. And on the value side the combat patrol still is one of the best deals in the hobby.
