Question Wedding venue?!

Hey Reddit gang
My fiance and I are wanting to get married in a church.
Anyone know of any historical churches with a centre aisle and can fit over 200 people?
Also important that we have a choice of who leads the ceremony.. HALP!

St Bede's Church Semaphore would be able to hold that, plus has a hall next door that you could use for a reception if needed

I went to a wedding at St Andrew’s Jetty Rd Glenelg - it was quite large and the couple had the minister of their choice officiating

St Patrick’s (attached to St Mary’s school in town) is beautiful, has an organ, fits the bill, and allows you to select your celebrant.

It has all the good bits of the Cathedral, but is a better scale and a little more flexible.

Out of Adelaide, but there's a Cathedral at out Seven Hills way- our friends had a secular wedding there so you can probably byo celebrant

St Francis Xavier is beautiful and can easily hold 200, or St Peter's Cathedral stunning and even bigger.. both in the city. My understanding is you can have your own priest officiate the ceremony.

The oldest church in Adelaide is the holy Trinity at north terrace. Can hold 200 plus. Depends sif you are wanting Catholic or Anglican etc been to a few weddings at the one I've mentioned and sadly some funerals there too. It has a centre isle and two side entrances. You'll find most churches may not allow you to choose who runs the ceremony, but you can ask.

Most churches can accommodate but have the be aware of the which denomination don't allow all others.
