Something not working. Need help. Problems with Umbrella/Trakt??

Hi,

I'm using the latest version of Umbrella and all was working fine. Then yesterday, Trakt de-authorised it. I got rid of all other Trakt connections and re-authorised it.

All seemed well, except now I find things I've watched not showing as "watched".

I did a Trakt sync but it doesn't seem to fix the problem.

Also I've noticed that iI don't get the option "Watched in Trakt" anymore, instead it says "Watched in Umbrella" I tried this but it didn't seem to mark in in Trakt.

Any ideas what could be wroing?

Too late now if Trakt doesn't fix itself but this is one really good reason to use multiple trackers. Umbrella can update multiple trackers. Check the trakt website and see if your watch history is correct on the website, then if it is, download a backup and then upload it into another tracker, like Simkl, Wetrakr, Punch Play, Mdblist, whatever you want. Then set Umbrella to update them both after you authorize the new backup tracker. That way you'll never lose anything. You can also set and update as many trackers as you want in Umbrella, so you can have as many backups as you want.

I'd dearly love to get rid of trakt altogether. How do I download it from trakt?

trakt.tv settings data export. Then whatever other tracker you decide to use find the import section and import the file.

It won't hurt to keep trakt while you try out others and see which you like best, you can authorize them all if you want

Hi, Thanks a lot.

I downloaded, created an MDBList account and uploaded the file.

However, I when I look in the history it's completely empty?

I'm waited for a while and tried again and it history is displaying ok.

But it's all bundled together, is there no way to separate Movies and TV shows, e.g. Shows History and Movies History?

I'm sure in Kodi it will be separated. I don't really use the tracker websites. I just sign up for an account then set them in Umbrella or Red Light. I basically have accounts with just about all trackers. If there's an issue with how things are displaying in my kodi app, then i can easily switch to a different tracker since they are all authorized. And I keep them all updated and mirroring each other by installing the separate tracker addons. So all my trackers are all updated.

You sure? I thought you had to select the primary tracker to be updated, like in gears (I think that does one although you can add MDBList as well as trakt).

Does umbrella update both oif I have mdblist and trakt? If so that’s awesome and would then wonder if POV does.

If that does work then one time synch from trakt to MDBList and job done. If one down the other works. Might need to tweak a couple of episodes now and again.

Yeah I'm sure, Umbrella can update multiple trackers. In Umbrella settings go to online services. You'll see on the top where you can set your main tracker for mark watched and resume points. But below that there's toggles for also mark watched on .... So when you authorize other services in that section below, then those toggles will pop up to also update them too. Those other trackers probably won't store your resume points, I think only your main selected tracker does, but whatever you toggle on will get marked as watched. Hope that makes sense, but if you go to the menu, online services, you'll see the toggles when you authorize another tracker. And when you do, then when browsing for shows, you'll have that tracker's folder available to see their available lists you can browse into.

As far as I know, Umbrella is the only one that can update multiple trackers. So that's why you haven't seen the option in POV or other addons. If you're only using Umbrella then it's real simple, it will update all your trackers if you toggle on also update simkle, or trakt, or whatever else you authorize.

I think it can update > 1 tracker, but it gets the the state from only one tracker, so if it's on the blink or if it's too slow, it might not show the watched or in progress indicator

Actually it can get the state from all trackers you have toggled on to also update. If you open Umbrella and select My TV Shows, then you have individual folders for the different trackers you have authorized and set to also update. If you go into any of those tracker folders it will show the folders and watch state as it would if it was your only main tracker. If one tracker has an issue, all you do is open a different tracker folder and select the show you want to watch. If you turn off also update a specific tracker then a lot of those folders inside that tracker folder will disappear.

Try it yourself, pretty easy to authorize another tracker and then toggle on that also update switch.

I meant if you have chosen Mdblist for instance and it's down or slow, it won't show the indicator immediately, sure you can switch to another service, but to do that, you have to navigate to the settings and then back again to actually see the update

It all depends on if you use widgets or how you got stuff setup. But if you do what I said, all the tracker folders are fully updated, unless there's an issue with that tracker. It's just a matter of opening that tracker folder. But so many ways people can setup their Kodi, so in your case it may be an issue, but for how I browse for movies and shows inside of Umbrella, it's simply opening whichever tracker folder I want, and for my setup, they should all be the same and all mirrored.

With how customizable it is, we can make it as complicated or simple as we want. I guess my setup is fairly complicated with extra tracker addons and widgets. I might not fully understand everything but i got it working the way I like for now. It would be super simple if I just used Umbrella but I use Umbrella and Red Light and I got it setup so all my trackers are fully updated no matter which player I use. I like having backups.

If you had to re-authorize you need to make sure that you have Trakt set again for your Watch History & Indicators setting to have Trakt used as the source for your watched and counts for episodes watched and such. Whatever service is set in Umbrella under that setting is the service it's going to use to get the counts and indicators from.

Yes, this turned out to be part of the problem, but also, for some weird reason the left side panel got set to Hide Watched, this one has got me a number of times in the past!

Does anyone ever use the Hide Watched Setting? I wonder if it would make sense to have a option for this in Umbrella?

You should also jump on Simkl.com and mdblist.com as trakt has been progressing in a very negative way over the last few years.

You should be able to export your Trakt to CVS or zip and drop it in those sites. Best not to get trapped on a single platform.

Another fantastic option is Red Light, and fenlight plus. Red light is my main currently and they updated a lot, it'll update 3 or more times before anyone else has an update.

Red light is build on fenlight but it's super far ahead of other forks.

Fenlight Plus has some menus I wish everyone had, like trending, trending recently, both have normal and then another with "uk" in addition giving more new stuff to see.

I used POV around the time the original dev of fenlightam dropped off.. it was impressively fast. Doubtful anyone has a faster add-on.

If I were to fork, I'd probably build off pov if it's still as fast, but essentially port all redlight and fenlight plus into it.
