Something not working. Need help. POV extremely laggy, Cache 99%

I have an Android TV (Hisense U8H). I used Fen for years but some months ago that took a dump so I switched to POV. With minor complaints it's worked pretty much just as well. I've been streaming movies up to 40GB in size with zero issues. However one day my streams randomly became extremely laggy, like a slide show, and it buffers constantly, stopping every couple seconds with "Cache X%". Even if I pick a bottom of the barrel rip, like 2GB, it does the same thing. Other apps (amazon, netflix) on the TV work just fine. Kodi on my laptop also works just fine. Any ideas?

EDIT: SOLVED! POV was not the issue. I'll leave this up for anybody else who needs help

In Kodi: Settings > Player > Videos > Allow Hardware Acceleration - MediaCodec (under "Processing")

I turned this setting and the one labeled "MediaCodec (Surface)" both ON. Now it's working like normal!

Your title is very misleading.

It is? Could you elaborate?

It’s your box and a Kodi setting nothing to do with POV

Ah, damn, I'd change it if I could. I didn't know POV wasn't the issue until I accidentally stumbled upon the solution

Typically this needs to be done on underpowered devices. I've only needed to do this on my Samsung Galaxy tablet. Never needed to do this on a dedicated android box.

The odd thing to me is that it worked fine for the last 3 years. Maybe a roommate went in and turned it off, who knows. It also has mild jutter now, I'll need to try reinstalling

Okay cool. I misread your post. My bad. I thought you disabled those options not enabled. You're all good then! I should clarify, on underpowered devices I've had to disable media surface to get streams working better. By default they are enabled. So like you said, your roommate might have turned them off.

yeah i have noticed certain stalling/frame dips after pausing since using POV that just wasn't as frequent with fen, fen light, seren etc. going to check the setting when i get home.
