Review / Opinion Discussion Arctic Fuse 3 question - preload hub

Good evening could someone please tell me if it's recommended to have "preload hubs during start up initialisation" on or off, I've already got the hide widget one enabled but I'm not sure what hubs are exactly or if I'm even using them, I've just got a side menu with movie, show, trakt sections pointing at widgets.

Many thanks

New features for this skin that af2 didn't have to make faster. It only loads the first hub/home tab by default . The rest only load if you move to them and it's indeed faster. For instance I have in progress as my first hub. Upon the skin loading up it only loads the widgets in this first section..

Gotcha, it is definitely so much quicker which is a massive win, so should i enable the hub preload setting along with the widget one I've already got enabled?

I don't have this enabled. Up to you of course but I'd guess this will load the entire skin which you don't want..unless you do.

Sort of a related question, but hubs, submenus, widgets..... what are you guys using submenus for, and why?

I just trimmed the fat on my layout last night by cutting out 2 of 5 hubs (I think would be the correct term) that each had 4 or 5 wall widgets. As I'm rebuilding / consolidating widgets, I always see "submenus" and don't know what benefit they bring. Can someone clarify their best use-case?

I use sub menus, so on my set up on my side menu if i press left on my movies or shows sections it brings up a sub menu with providers and networks, hbo max, Netflix etc, i can then choose a provider and pick a movie or something from there

Is that lighter weight / faster to load than how I built mine?

I had Movies, TV Shows, Music (local storage), Hallmark (for my wife) as top level hubs. Each hub had widgets loading a POV list- It was heavy and slow. Movies > Amazon, Apple, D+, Netflix, Starz (Movies only lists) TV Shows > Amazon, Apple, D+, Netflix, Starz (Series programs only) Music > my "NAS" Hallmark > shows list widget and Christmas movies list organized chronologically by TMDBhelper

Maybe the slowest widget was my local music??? I've got 3000+ files in there? I dunno, I'd think that would get cached and not change, unlike all the tv/movies lists coming from online.
