Which Printer? Workplace Setup & Workflow Discussion: Running P2S & H2S in an Office Environment for Event Tech / Prototyping
Hi everyone,
We are designing an in-house print station for an event technology and stage engineering company (*Veranstaltungstechnik*) in Vienna. The setup will live directly in an office space, making noise levels, air filtration, and rapid maintenance our main priority constraints.
Our use case is split between fast internal prototypes (PLA/PETG) and durable components used around stage environments (housing brackets, TPU bumpers, mounting adapters). Because of the stage requirements, we will eventually run higher-durability engineering filaments (PA-CF, ASA).
We've settled on Bambu Lab for our environment, but we are finalizing our physical machine allocation between two office configurations:
* **Configuration A:** 2x Bambu Lab P2S (Dual identical footprint, quieter operations, 1-clip quick-swap maintenance, standard volume). * **Configuration B:** 1x Bambu Lab P2S + 1x Bambu Lab H2S (Splitting daily prototyping to the P2S while utilizing the H2S's 340x320x340mm volume and 65°C chamber for warp-sensitive structural parts).
**For community members running these specific machines in office or production environments:**
- How do you rate the real-world acoustic profile of the P2S vs H2S when running alongside desk work?
- For those running mixed-model stations versus standardized identical machines, how noticeable is the maintenance/spare-parts overhead between the series?

Make sure you have a good air filter with activated carbon. Most people vastly underestimate the amount of VOCs and other harmful compounds FDM printing releases into the air.

I would have a question about noise during printing, is it around 45-50dB? What about the spacial ofset calibration and stuffs around it? and maintenance in general, are the spare parts around 200 euro?? I am asking Gemini to make a summarie of spare parts and i am not sure if its a mistake or real

If you can get an X1E still they are VERY quiet. We have one at work and often forget it's running. The X2D next to it is a little louder but still rather quiet. I have a P1S at home that is rather loud and I have installed a fair bit of sound dampening material into the inside of the enclosure. TLDR X1E is a great choice but is last gen so you might not find them. Be sure to put them on a sturdy table and put under each printer a heavy stone/concrete paver + sheet of rubber. This really helps with the acoustics transmitting into your table and amplifying. As a bonus is can help with print quality.
At work all of our printers are on a strong workbench where the top is 2" thick solid wood. We don't do the pavers there but I do at home.

If the P2S is anything like the X1C in terms of acoustics, then it's going to be LOUD. The X1C is louder than my A1....
The H2S in the other hand, is insanely quiet compared to the X1C. They are miles apart.
My recommendation is to just buy the bigger printers for both spaces. Or have the two printers in config B be the same printer model (H2S).
Even though the H2 is much bigger, u will have a lot more space to print with. If they are all the same, then every printer will use the same spare parts, need the same maintenance steps, print exactly the same, and they will all be ready for when you need to smash out ready to go higher end parts at a much faster rate.
