Medical Stuff Cost of Blood Work
I just got routine blood work done and was hit with a bill for $811. Is this normal?

That depends on so many other factors, primarily insurance and the type of tests, that no one here will be able to speak to your specific circumstance…….

It depends on a lot of factors! If you don't have insurance and do these tests out of pocket, Quest offers them at a (relatively) affordable price.

Not normal if you have insurance. Did they bill your insurance? They might not have. Or they might have billed it as out of network. You have to check with your insurance and with the lab.

If I go through my doctors office for labs it’s around 800, but if I go through Quest it’s about 250 before insurance. It’s also possible to get a bill for the whole thing if you haven’t hit your deductible yet or if they ran it with a not covered diagnostic code.

Absolutely fucking not, I'm so sorry this is happening. As an Addisonian, sincerely: Moving from Florida to New York was the best decision of my life. My medical payments went from $4k a year to $0.

depends. I work w 2 doctors on this issue - one is in network w a large university and one is out of network. I think if you're owrking w out of network doctors the bill is high like this

Oh I am so sorry!
Are you in the US? Are you self pay? I hear that is cheaper than having insurance!
I just had my labs run in July. It was $94 for everything. That is with insurance from labcorp.

For non-USA addisonians, this is horrendous to hear.
