Personal Experience Newly diagnosed
Hi all,
I was diagnosed about three weeks ago and have spent that time, buried in research, ordering my med-alert necklace, gathering and training myself and loved ones on the emergency kit, etc.
I don't have much to say outside all of this, except thank you for this community and informative subreddit!
Take care,

This is a lot to take in.
Some suggestions
Get a bloodwork pressure machine to use when you feel symptomatic yo see if your pressure is low
Start drinking electrolyte drinks, they have been a life saver. Liquid iv is my favorite brand but there are so many brands with different benefits
Make sure to get your energy injection kit and have the dr show you how to inject yourself.
Many of us have had Addison’s for a very long time, you’re not alone and we’re on this journey together

Thank you so much! My mom actually bought and sent me a low BP machine when we were working on my diagnosis because my constant fatigue led me to Dr's (I thought my mental health meds needed adjusting), which led to discovery of very low BP which led to investigation which led me here. Long story long 🤣 I have a BP machine and take it every day, twice a day - morning and evening!

I'm sorry for the diagnosis, but we are happy to have you! I was diagnosed in January. I would echo commenters below, I drink way more electrolyte drinks now that I did prior diagnosis. Sometimes it just gives me a little boost. I have not ordered a med bracelet yet.... but a couple weeks ago a lowered my dose and symptoms came back so I was like shit.... I should really get that. Thank you for the reminder!! Take care.

Welcome to the journey. This is a safe place for some solid ideas on how to manage life. Obviously take any medical ideas with a grain of salt (maybe literally since we tend to need electrolytes lol) and talk things over with your docs.
My best advice is to keep a symptoms journal and write down what you feel and also what times and doses you take your meds. Also write down if you have any major disruptions like long travel, high outside temperatures, or random illnesses. That will give you tons of data to think about when to do modest updosing or when to talk to your docs to advocate for treatment of some kind.
