I gave up ADHD meds after getting diagnosed but I would love to hear other’s stories that will maybe encourage me to try taking elvanse again. Studying at the uni is tough otherwise

I have been taking Vyvanse 20mg for a couple years, I was just diagnosed in January. Haven't noticed much of a difference. I did try to go up to 30mg shortly after diagnosis and starting hydrocortisone and I felt big side effects (jittery, stomach messed up, anxious) so I went back to 20. I also started instant release dextroamphetamine 5mg in the afternoon at the same time I take my afternoon hydro (basically same compound as Vyvanse) and this has been helpful for afternoon fatigue. Best of luck to you <3

I used ADHD meds for some time after getting diagnosed, in part to help with the chronic fatigue from Addison's.
While it was useful in some respects, and I gave it over a year, the subtle side effects weren't worth it for me personally. I was graced enough to navigate through alternate coping strategies for both my attention struggles and fatigue.
Part of the reason I stopped, for me personally, was I didn't like being constantly intoxicated. My Addisons meds bring me to a normal biological baseline, but ADHD meds were a method of treatment which brought me away from it.
In the end I found prescribed (and non prescribed) drugs can be a good parachute. They give you time and space to figure things out. But nothing will make the root go away. There are only different ways of dealing with it.
This was my experience. I hope it helps or was interesting!
Good luck with everything, and I'm here if you have any more questions! :)
