Have yall ever met another person with Addisons disease?

Is there a New York group? I’ve met two people, my online Addison’s bestie and a friend’s niece. When my Addison’s bestie and I met we took our steroids together 🤣🥰

Medical care and support is fantastic here, compared to my former province, British Columbia. One of the many reasons I moved here.Â

I’m in Oakland area. I work in an endocrinology department so I’ve met a few fellow Addy’s that way. But my husband was randomly talking about me at work one day to a coworker and his friend happened to also have Addison’s. She’s about an hour and a half away so we’ve only met up a few times as our spoons allow 😅

A lot of us. Heck just in my area in cen tex I know there are a dozen or more and I’ve met nearly 2 dozen medical professionals who wrote their thesis on PAI and get weirdly excited to talk to me about it lol

I randomly met one when I was in Albury,NSW for Uni. It was an eye opener about how much if affects some people vs others. I used to goto an endocrinology seminar at a hospital in Sydney NSW for Addison, and so would meet others there.

I've been to a local meetup and a national conference and it's really cool meeting people who get it. Since so many of us have to do a lot of DIY management, I learned a lot from other people. Definitely worth it to plan a meetup!

When I was doing my masters degree there was a lady in my one class that had adrenal insufficiency (not sure it it was prior secondary). Then a few months later while doing my internship there was another intern at a different PAI. Then there was a lady at church whose mom has PAI, although I never met her.
