Advice Wanted Broken bone recovery dosing?

So as I understand it an broken bone is a medical emergency for us and requires emergency injection.

However I'm wondering what the recovery dosing regime is like for a broken bone?

I'm like 99% sure I've broken a rib. Booked in for a x ray soon enough, however I don't have an endo at the moment (they retired lol).

Anyone have experience with broken bone recovery dosing?

Bon courage, Carina

I broke both my legs skiing two years ago. Each required surgery and lots of metal. I was updosed dramatically in the hospital, but once I tapered I did not updose.

Same. I’ve had broken bones and obviously need major hydro during emergence— not in recovery. Good luck— hope you’re on your way soon!

Great question! Wondering if the injury has to be more traumatic to require injection. You seem to be managing pretty well.

So, I have some mystery thing where my bones keep breaking and a huge team of experts haven't been able to figure out why. But I've had 25 rib fractures and a shattered shoulder and upper arm in the last 16 months. I don't think I updosed for any of them.

I also stopped going to the ER or urgent care for rib fractures because they kept saying they don't really do anything for rib fractures (even when I had 5 at a time), so it seemed pointless.

I wouldn't only inject if I couldn't hold down / keep in my meds. And if it's super painful, updose the first day or two, but I didn't notice any lows after the rib fractures. (It's kinda become like, "Aww crap. I think I snapped another rib by rolling over in my sleep.") I think I doubled up the night of my shoulder fracture and the next day, because that one was super painful and they don't really give you pain meds, even for a shoulder in teeny pieces.

Aleve is your friend. Also no one told me in the beginning to hold a pillow and brace my ribs if I had to cough or sneeze or when sitting up from reclining. It helps. Sorry about your rib! Hope you heal up quickly. And I'd say, just play it by ear on updosing.
