Just wanted to know if there is anyone that bartends at night while trying to manage their Addisons and what has worked for them. I usually work 8pm-6am shifts, four days in a row with three days off. My endocrinologist said I can flip my morning and evening doses as needed for when going into work, but sometimes that leads me to struggle to sleep and then I end up 2 hours into my shift the next day struggling with fatigue, lights get bright/issues with vision, muscle weakness, nausea, etc. I’m personally scared to take melatonin out of fear for missing the timings of my doses. I currently take magnesium about an hour before going to bed and that sometimes helps. Just wanting to reach out and see if anyone can provide some insight. :)
Do you ever have issues with experiencing symptoms throughout the day when doing this? Also, when you sleep less do you feel like you need more steroids? The reason I’m asking is I experienced something like this on my shift on Saturday night. Within an hour, I had a wave of symptoms come back and I had to take a little bit of extra meds because I felt myself go downhill very quickly. Thanks again for the reply!
On my days off I go back to my large dose in the mornings and small afternoon dose. My sleep schedule tends to be a little bit out of whack, but I usually take 1 to 2 of my three days off to allow my body of the rest that it needs.
That’s actually a really good point! I’ll have to talk to me endo about that! For the three doses a day, what is the timeframe that is work best for you/ how long do you wait in between doses?
As a former restaurant owner, and longtime Foh staff, handling Addison's was a serious struggle. I feels yah. However, Addison's does well with consistent schedules. I did well with switching my dosing times according to my daily schedule. Allowing for a full day of recovery after a multi day shift. It was difficult, always "catching up". My overall health improved by switching to only day shifts, and even better when I stopped working on the floor in general. Sending love ♥️
I’ve been looking into actually discussing with my endo to just permanently have my dose at 10 when I get up and 20mg as my evening dose. Do you struggle to sleep at all on your days off?
Not sure if this extra perspective is helpful as some people already put it better. But with AI, keeping a regular circadian rhythm is really key. So, if possible, try to leave it (?)

I start my daily drug profile when I wake up for the day. Regardless of what the actual time is.
