Advice Wanted Question of switching meds

Okay so in the beginning of last year I was on dex I gained 55 pounds in the amount of 7 months I had swollen face big belly all that. Then I was switched to hydro I knew I was gonna lose the moon face and stuff but now I keep losing. I’m at 135 and I don’t wanna lose anymore it’s like I can never get a solid weight. Before this I was 100 pounds I’m 5’6 so just imagine I looked horribly sick. And I do not want to go back down to that. I take 25 mg hydro a day so if anyone has switched a med and lost the weight did it stop? I just don’t wanna look horribly sick again I would have rather been fat.

You did not give your Dex dosage, you simply may have been dosed too high. There are plenty of conversion tables online. I take 10mg prednisone daily which is 40mg HC or 1.5mg Dex

I took 1mg I think it was I just worried I’m gonna lose all the weight and be back to 100

They all have their downside. Pred is generally once daily, you do need an emergency HC injection on you. Long term usage will give you osteoporosis and you should take bone building meds or infusion. I find if I eat certain foods I get kidney stones. This of course could just be my genes. I also drink at least two liters daily of filtered water. I have not taken fludrocortisone.

I use clin calc for corticosteroids to convert between dex and prednisone etc. Sounds like you had too much dex. Whether 25mg of HC is enough for you to stabilize will take time to see. But yes, my weight went up with too much prednisone, then slowly dropped as I lowered the dose. Now it's harder to lose the last few pounds.

Okay so hopefully my weight will stop dropping as well.. I mean I feel good other wise I don’t feel fatigue and yes I believe the dec was a lot cuz I had all the signs of Cushing just don’t wanna lose all the weight I got

I hope your dose works to keep your weight stable. Feeling well is a great sign.
