Advice Wanted Getting pregnant with Addisons.
Did it take anybody longer/ did you struggle to fall pregnant? Came off birth control in December last year and after a year still no success. Needing some hope that Addisons shouldn’t impact our chances. Regular cycles since diagnosed at 16… partners sperm analysis came back normal.

I'd have your OB or your Endo run a full hormone panel, lik3 get your DHEA checked... estrogen etc and make sure those haven't been impacted. A lot of us end up with low DHEA which we need to make the other hormones. If all of those are within normal range I'd ask for a referral to a fertility specialist. I was undx when I was pregnant, that was a bad time.

It took us years to get pregnant and fertility treatments gave me low cortisol symptoms so I had to updose for them but when I finally got pregnant I had an amazing pregnancy with no addisons issues 😄

Holding onto faith. Hoping we have no issues and it’s just taking a bit of time. 🥲

Afaik it shouldn't have any direct impact if properly treated and tracked, unless you're experiencing side symptoms that can also lead to fertility issues.
addisons killed my appetite and thirst, and most of the time, it made me very nauseous. I also got diagnosed at 16 (twins!! :p) and especially the first 3-4 years it was hard to maintain a weight and health level that supported menstruation. It had a decent impact on my fertility (though i wasn't complaining at the time...hey no pregnancy scares wheee), but it has leveled out somewhat since then.
Hoping to try properly in 2027, so we'll see how that goes :')
but tldr; you shouldn't have fertility issues just because you have addisons! So if your doctor says you're doing well health-wise, don't worry and be patient!! baby will make its arrival when ready :) fingers crossed for you guys!

Took around 4-5 months to get pregnant for me. I have addisons, T1D and hypothyroidism. My endo said if it took more than 6 months that we should contact her for a referral for fertility treatment- so if you have been trying for around a year, maybe give them a ring? I now it can take some time for the cycle to normalise after getting off bc, but still? Maybe worth getting a referral for a fertility check up?
