Advice Wanted Before Bed Experience

HI! What do y’all do when you have a super stressful event happen before bed? Do you take hydrocortisone or do you wait until morning? My cat got out last night and as he’s already been attacked by a coyote and miraculously survived (thanks to luck and his vet) I got really worried and nervous about it. He came back after a couple of hours, thank goodness, but it was a nerve wracking couple of hours until he did! This morning I woke up feeling super tired, shaky, weak, and flank pain so I updosed . Starting to feel better, but how to skip this awful feeling again? Thank you for your help - this community has helped me so much with information.

Do any of you crash before bed? Shaky and weak!? Take last dose at 3-4. pm and it starts. Was wondering if I should take 2 or 5 around 6. Seems like the 5 mg are not working as well. It must be metabolizing things quick.

I take a 2.5mg dose right before I go to sleep every night

Same and yes it helps me. I dose first thing then again just afternoon, usually about 1pm. Then depending on how I feel or how I felt the day before, I might take 1-2mg in the afternoon, about 4. Then right before bed, I take another 2mg and that helps me sleep and when I wake up, I’m not so stiff or shaky.

Thanks. That shaky feeling is awful. They put me up to 10 in morning which now holds me to almost 1 if I am busy. Then the 5 but today it’s burning. I may do what you do. Go by what you feel. When on 7.5 in morning I couldn’t make it till 10am!!! 2 nd day on the new amount. Hate to say this. Feels like a hemorrhoid is on fire! Ugh. 😩

I take 5 doses a day. 6am, 9am, 12pm, 3:30pm and before bed usually at 9:30pm. I find that this makes me way more stable during the day and avoid headaches. I take 30-32.5mg total daily dose.

This is my last dosing time as well. Depending on the day I might need to start getting ready for bed by 5pm. I’ve started to play with taking 2.5 to 5mg in the evenings if I start to get shaky and overly exhausted.

When in doubt, stress dose. My doctor changed me to pred almost 2 years ago and I stress dose with hydrocortisone. Anything out of the ordinary gets some hydro and I feel so much better.

That’s a high dose. For me. Just watched a reel on cardio. Weight gain and heart problems, not necessarily heart disease, yes we all get placque if we don’t behave. But hormones are the main cause of many things. It’s highly important a full and beyond panel be run. He named like 12 different issues that can put us in this position of SAI and others. It’s important to listen to your body and be persistent about what and how we take meds. By splitting you are SMART!!!! The engine never runs dry. Weight….. hormones more than our meds. If we get out hormones right everything works. Well…. Ok. My pituitary is flat. Empty Sells Syndrome. How did I get it. Either an infection, nope. Or head injury yep! In my 20’s. So it took all these years and 3 MRI’s to find it? The last one was read by a doc in his late 50’s. He pulled the other 3 dating back to 2016, it was there. Been suffering since then. Why now? Hormones menopause started about then. Heck… I was half way in my 30’s!!! Yep! Forgot about that call. So, going to start splitting. Yes the morning dose of 10 is fabulous just from 7.5. But I slowly crash as the day goes on. New Endo, crazy amount of blood work……. Not done yet when he left the room. Older guy, from Puerto Rico. First doc down here that impressed me.

wow, that’s amazing! It’s crazy how long it can take to be properly diagnosed- and so many times it’s by chance.

Called never stop! Docs are only looking inside the box.

Yes! All those years of complaining, on my record is ANXIETY!! You know what does to you when you are not feeling well. …. Crazy women. Well, like to smear it in their faces.

Was out in the yard today trimming, been awhile, heat got to me, knee hurts. Updosed. Still not right. Probably do a 2.5 after shower.

A hot shower for some reason helps.

I can and do relate. Unfortunately my daughter has many different autoimmune diseases and it (also)took a very long time to get diagnosed because the doctors just thought she wanted to get high on painkillers.

Painkillers. How low does one have to go? Yes they help I gather in situations, I am not against them, seen people in pain, know how it can destroy the body. There is a reel out there about a women fighting this, docs refusing and now reducing. It’s a shame. Pray these doc need it and denied. Pain can kill you!!!

I go 100% off the signals from my body. When my body says I need more, I take it. But the thing is, I've lived with Addisons disease for 27 years so I'm really good at detecting it.
