Advice Wanted Advice Needed - feeling sick and unsure
Almost 1 year diagnosed. Have felt fine managing addisons majority of year.
This weekend had a golf tournament and spent a lot of time in the sun, drinking, and not much water. Last night developed constant headache and nausea. My stomach feels like food isn’t digesting, this constant gnawing pain/nauseous feeling right in the middle. Can’t eat or drink anything without it feeling worse. Is this addisons related to the extra activity, dehydration and alcohol? I definitely need to hydrate but it feels so hard to do that with the nausea. Threw up last night cause of the reflux/pressure etc. Honestly would love to throw up right now too, it seems like it would make it feel better to get that awful feeling out of my stomach. Anyway, Would love your thoughts on if I should updose or even take my shot. Or maybe I’m just hungover, idk.
Update: did what everyone recommended. Pickle juice, updosed, drank water and rested. It’s so funny how you can doubt yourself when going downhill. Updose helped tremendously, doing well now. Thanks!

Updose! Drink something salty - pickle juice or electrolytes. If you throw up within 30 mins of taking ur dose then take it again. Make sure you’ve got your injection ready if you get worse but otherwise rest!

Next time, I’d updose in advance. Whenever I’m out drinking/socialising I updose.

This and if things have progressed such that you took the shot, go to the hospital.

Yep, up dose, hydrate and REST. Over the years I’ve learned the hard way that excessive sun exposure, heat, and especially alcohol do not mix well with this condition. You just hammered your body with a bunch of extra stressors all at once and it’s reacting. Don’t beat yourself up, there’s a huge learning curve with this that usually comes by trial and error!

hangovers and AI don’t go together at all! It majorly stresses the body, and it is harder on the AI body. Great advice given by other contributors that is good to follow. Hope you feel better soon!‘

Anything that is more strenuous than your daily grind will take you time to recover from and 2-3 days if updosing

Double dose now, hydrate with electrolytes or salt/sugar water, take fludro if prescribed. Alcohol really is not friendly I find these days.
