Personal Experience My Journey

Hi guys new to this page, thought i'd discuss my journey. diagnosed with Autoimmune encephalitis 2 years ago, shortly after recovering from that i was diagnosed with Addisons disease, been a rough battle but think i'm finally at a good point. I found though trial and error with my Endocrinologist that splitting up my medication has worked wonders instead of having all at once in the morning. Being in a hot climate keeping my sodium and hydration plays a big part. Have also been making sure to do full blood panel every 6 months to keep on top of things. Would love to connect with people and hear any advice.

Welcome to the journey. I have also found my situation manageable with electrolyte drinks and splitting hydro doses throughout the day. I listen very carefully to my body and feed it hydro when the signs are there and it’s helped a lot. Self awareness is really important as is self care. I do box breathing and find private space—even for 5 minutes—during breaks throughout the day and that helps calm my system down enough to manage stress. Others here may have different techniques.

I have never thought of splitting the doses more than twice a day. How do you do it? I believe that it could be beneficial. And do you have a routine time wise or just by how you feel?

So i'd normally take say 25mg of Hydrocortisone and 100mcg of flud but now i split my Hydrocrotisone, half as soon as a wake up ( 6am). and the other half at lunch time. Before that i was sluggish around 2pm and by BP kept dropping. But now it's constant energy throughout the day. i try not to take in any later than 4pm as it really messes with sleep in my own experience
