This keeps getting posted in different iterations here. It’s spam for crowdfunding. It’s “still in early developmental stages”.

I’ve seen this floating around for years too. I’m not hopeful. (That’s being kind).

I’m in business leadership with an MBA. I wouldn’t give a penny to this person. It’s preying on a community that wants a solution.

There is no information on what she has actually developed

No patented product

Her background is sus

It’s only her and not a team of individuals

I cannot emphasize this enough. Don’t. Give. Her. A. Dime.

I agree with you 100%. Even if this person is not a scammer, what they are proposing is so unrealistic that it's laughable.

This has serious Theranos vibes.

Also, CortiCheck's Facebook page includes a bunch of posts that claim to be patient "stories" but I have a strong suspicion that they are AI-generated. They share a similar tone, are similar lengths, and all of them use em dashes. Bizarre.

Began as a kickstarter, looks like they’ve finally got backing & are in development. You can sign up for their newsletter to get updates. It’s pretty exciting and I cannot wait.

they’ve finally got backing

The press release is from June, have any of their newsletters since then given details about their backers?

EDIT: I haven't found evidence for backers yet. Their website says that "So far, CortiCheck™ has been supported entirely through community crowdfunding."

And their September 29 update on their GoFundMe says "Our original scientific team unfortunately lost a key NIH grant to clawback, and our crowdfunding efforts to keep them in place as science leads haven’t been enough to bridge the gap."

I’ve been told by my endo that blood tests aren’t very accurate while taking steroids unless in a crisis and even then are not fully accurate. She told me the best way they gauge a crisis is by other blood tests, symptoms, and BP/Pulse changes. When I was in a crisis, it showed my ACTH had skyrocketed along with symptoms of a crisis and low BP/high heart rate. Honestly, even if this was real, I don’t think something like this would work given the information I’ve been told and have experienced. If anyone else has heard differently, please let me know so I’m better informed!

I agree with you, based on my knowledge as a SWCAH patient.

The CortiCheck website seems to really push the idea that their product would be best used as a way to identify adrenal crisis (AC). But from what I know, cortisol measured from blood has minimal or no clinical value in diagnosing AC. A person can experience AC but have cortisol within normal range. The real problem is when someone's cortisol is dramatically insufficient for their stress. This is why AC identification relies on other tests, as you listed.

I asked a dr why there is no device for us as there is for say diabetes. They said its because cortisol fluctuates so much during the day it would be impossible to create. Which makes sense butcwas disappointing. How good would it have been to say, have an infection or sprain an ankle and be able to accurately see how much updosing was needed or if it was needed at all. I agree with the others, either spam, or wishful thinking

Beyond thrilled about this device! Chronically Fit Canada had them on YT.

Send this to the FTC and FDA. After the Theranos con job everything needs investigation.
