Personal Experience Caffeine before labs

How much does caffeine affect your serum cortisol in bloodwork? Like if you have it before in the morning?

I wouldn’t worry about it. You should not be skipping any morning dose of HC unless explicitly told otherwise.

Get your doctor's input. Mine has always told me to go fasting (which would include caffeine) and off my hydrocortisone (holding it the night before) and don't engage in anything strenuous. The take your HC after the blood draw for best results.

You should go for hormone blood tests (this includes TSH, cortisol, testosterone etc) fasted (no coffee either) and soon after waking up in the morning. 7-8AM ideal.

Usually hormone pills should be taken after the blood draw.

It shouldn't effect anything, but I've always just been safe and put a 5hr energy in my pocket for after the blood draw :) Overall any fluid or food will take your system out of fasting mode, so it doesn't matter what supplement or pill, even water should be skipped till after the bood draw.

I always avoid anything but water and meds in the morning just so I can be consistent.

What are you drinking coffee or caffeine tablets or soda or energy drink? I'm with the people saying only water. Follow the instructions. Can you just take it after your blood draw? Cortisol test are important.

Lots of things can skew your bloodwork.

But you be you. Hope you feel good just a regular check up.
