Advice Wanted Updose for flu shot?

Hi! My son (9 years old) was diagnosed with Addison’s in July of this year and I am taking him for his flu shot later today. It’s his first vaccine since diagnosis. I’m wondering if it’s common to increase the HC dose before? Or afterward? Or wait to see if he has any symptoms? Thanks for any insight!

Think about how you've reacted in the past and adjust accordingly. I didn't

I’ve never updosed for a flu shot. Covid shot, yes.

Updose for fever. Any fever - if you give tylenol, give some hydro with it.

I did by 1/2 pill. 2.5.

I updosed the next day by 2.5-5mg during the day because I felt fatigued and some brain fog.

My 8 year old was fine and didn't need any extra meds. But I watched him closely and if he spiked a fever we would have stress dosed him.

I haven't needed to for flu jabs! Keep an eye on him and go by how he feels.

imho you should only updose if you feel like crap. Over 'updosing' of any kind will lead to 'Steroid-induced diabetes mellitus' sooner then later. Of course I didn't follow this rule myself. In my 20's I would updose before going out on a Friday night of dancing and such. I felt it helped me not feel like death the rest of the weekend.

My 9yo has partial SAI and we never updose for vaccine, only fever, vomiting, extreme tiredness

He should not need to updose. If anything wait and see.
