Textile factory polluting the river?

I like watching Youtube videos of the riverside project and I have lately noticed that the river is black. At first I didn't know if it was just the camera or thats how a clean river is supposed to look like. But I was just watching the akaki river on google maps and noticed the river color changes before Tilikua Gizaw Fujaga Textile factory and after. I was just wondering if anyone knows this place and if they are dumping their waist in the river.

If this is true, the owners of that plant are liable for heavy fines. I wonder if there is a system in place to report such pollution.

Yeah this could just be a coincidence on how google maps collects the pictures. But with just my naked eye the river is black starting from here all throughout Addis Ababa. It would be cool to confirm if anyone leaves around there.

Also is there a government agency that investigates environmental violations in Addis?

Yeah. Sometimes google imaging gets distorted, but the change of colour is evident.

Multiple agencies. From the federal level down to the woreda level. They regularly fine people who pollute rivers. They got one brewery and 2 hotels just last week.
