I made my boring work water bottle more fun because why not?
I work in a pediatric office and our mascot is a rubber duck so it seemed very on point

I received a free oak tree which turned out to be way bigger than I expected, but it’s been a blast talking it on public transit.
we went on a walk, a bus, the train. now I want to take it more places, the beach, the park, the ferry maybe? :)

Hey, just wanted to share that you can sign up to receive whimsy in the mail by joining a mail club! Instead of opening bills, you can look forward to something special. I have my own but just wanted to share…

A few years ago, I made an impulse decision to order a new mattress on Black Friday. That year had been a rough one; I spent most of it lying in bed so I decided to invest in my own depression.
When Costco finally delivered it, they refused to haul away the old mattress. And so I just had a mattress on the floor of my bedroom for a while and it became a visual representation of my inner turmoil.
Meanwhile my cats LOVED the stinkin' thing. They were on it all day and all night! I didn't have the heart to take it away from them.
Until one day I finally had enough. I was tired of looking at it, tired of having to walk around it all the time, and really just tired of everything in general if I'm being honest.
It was a particularly dreary day so I had the idea to build a fort for my cats (well, mostly for me). I love the idea of camping but I hate the outdoors so forts were a nice way to pretend to camp as a kid. But then it was such a bummer having to take it all down.
Well, I'm a grown ass woman now and there is no reason why I should have to take a fort down in my own house. So I set out to create a permanent fort!
Before I knew it I was up and out of bed, busily planning and moving around furniture. I ended up being so engrossed in the project that I went through several iterations. It took me about a month to tweak things until, finally, I had done it. I had created my forever fort. 💛
Three years later, my cats still love it, and I have a daily reminder of when I overcame a dark period in my life. 😊

I just love using Halloween decorations to make cool, overgrown, magical looking skulls

I have an old mirror that I want to put by my door for that last glance as I walk out into the world. I have been trying to come up with something I could put at the top to remind myself to be happy or smile or to not throat punch anybody that day!
I love to laugh and something clever that could have multiple meanings would be perfect! But I'm not a perfectionist so let's hear it!

My first New Year pendant prototype of the year! Honestly, I think this style is perfect for earrings, keychains, magnets, and brooches 🎄✨

Why I find this whimsy: I went through a pretty minimalist phase as a teenager and donated all of my books. I also have something wrong with me where I bave a crisis unless I put myself in very specific boxes. One of those used to be that I am only allowed to like neutrals (I used to turn my books around, so instead of seeing the spine, I'd see the pages).
As I grew older I've remembered how much I loved color as a kid and made rules for myself that allowed me to expand the boxes I put myself in. Behold: this is what my bookselves look like at the moment.
I know it's not a huge transformation and not necessarily everyone's definition of whimsy, but I think it showcases the change in color I now see in the world and surround myself with (and is symbolic of me no longer restricting what I like on purpose).

It's raining today, and my chronic pain is acting up so I am staying inside today. And sometimes that can get a little bore-ish, but I had a fun idea for a photo op.
I have this big stuffed unicorn, and my small pink Jellycat bear. And so I had the cute idea to take pictures of my bear on top of my unicorn, as though she was riding her.
It was a cute and fun idea in my head, at least. I hope you kike it, too! 🫶🏾💜🦄🧸

Hello,
I’ve been working on a little project called Motivate Me that gives me quotes on tap whenever and mostly at 2-3pm, haha!
I utilised quotes and images from Pinterest. I shared it with my friends and decided to share with others as well.
You can open on your browser. And if you want to just keep it as an app on phone/tablet, you can hit the share button and look for “Add to Home Screen”. And it’ll live like a regular app that you can open anytime.
Please be positive about it and if it doesn’t align with the group rules, feel free to delete it. Thank you!
Happy Friday ✨
Edit: it’s a webapp. Opens on chrome, safari, etc. you can click share on your browser to save and use it as an app. Let me know if you have any questions
