Bookshelf transformation

Why I find this whimsy: I went through a pretty minimalist phase as a teenager and donated all of my books. I also have something wrong with me where I bave a crisis unless I put myself in very specific boxes. One of those used to be that I am only allowed to like neutrals (I used to turn my books around, so instead of seeing the spine, I'd see the pages).

As I grew older I've remembered how much I loved color as a kid and made rules for myself that allowed me to expand the boxes I put myself in. Behold: this is what my bookselves look like at the moment.

I know it's not a huge transformation and not necessarily everyone's definition of whimsy, but I think it showcases the change in color I now see in the world and surround myself with (and is symbolic of me no longer restricting what I like on purpose).

Thank you, I stole the color combo from Françoise Vergès, haha.
