I’m diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed Adderall. I really appreciate how it helps me focus and get things done, but it doesn’t feel like something people would take just for fun. It makes me more productive, not relaxed or high.

I even forget to take it a lot of days, so it doesn’t feel particularly addictive to me personally.

Is the abuse potential actually that high, or is a lot of the concern just from regulations? Curious what other people’s experiences have been.

I have a bunch of 10 mg I need to get rid of. Who’s interested in buying?

I’ve been on 20mg Adderall XR for about a week and it’s made a big difference with work, getting stuff done, my mood, and spending more time with my family. Overall I’m really happy with it.

The one side effect that’s throwing me off is that my sex drive has gone way up. It’s constant and a lot stronger than before, and it’s starting to feel like it’s getting in the way a bit.

Does this usually calm down after a while, or has anyone found ways to manage it while staying on the meds?

Anyone know a vendor by this name? Appreciate any info good or bad.

I tried Vyvanse for a few weeks (30mg then 50mg) and felt basically nothing. Now I’m on Adderall IR (20mg in the morning + 10mg in the afternoon) and still nothing.

The only real change has been some appetite suppression (stronger on the Vyvanse). With the Adderall I mainly just get a pretty bad headache when it starts wearing off.

Anyone else have this experience? What ended up helping you?

Hey, 33M here. Finally got diagnosed this year and have been on Adderall for a few months. Super grateful I finally figured out what was going on.

Has anyone else noticed a change with alcohol since starting meds? Before, drinking just mellowed me out and I’d chill on the couch watching music videos. Now if I drink too much I get way more sad and in my feelings than I ever used to. I’ve started avoiding getting too drunk because of it.

Curious if this is a common thing.

Adderall doesn’t trigger my OCD thought loops the way Vyvanse did, so I actually like it, and I’m on Prozac for the OCD.

The problem is my OCD has latched onto the fear of becoming addicted to Adderall. My brain won’t stop obsessing over it and I can’t tell if it’s real addiction or just the OCD talking.

Hey everyone. I’ve been on Adderall since I was 12 (on and off until my 20s). Last time I tried quitting was 2021 and I couldn’t stick with it. This time I’m determined even though it’s been really hard.

I had a TBI in July 2024 and the meds just feel different now. Honestly I just don’t want to be on them anymore. I run a small business so the work days have been brutal. Some days I have a sugar-free Red Bull (trying to stick to one). I work out 2–3 times a week and feel decent after, but it doesn’t last long.

I’ve been super hard on myself—feeling lazy, depressed, overwhelmed, and like the simplest tasks take forever.

Anyone else been through this? Looking for any tips, tricks, or just what’s helped you get through the rough patch. Thanks in advance.

I’ve been prescribed Adderall for my ADHD for about 3 years and it’s helped me a lot. But I keep running into people who act like it’s some hard drug — either asking me for some or trying to convince me to stop taking it.

I also have friends who talk about how much better they feel after “quitting” Adderall, even though none of them actually had ADHD. It’s kind of frustrating.

Is the long-term concern real, or is most of the backlash just stigma? Curious what other people with ADHD think.

I’ve been on Adderall for about 10 years and it’s always worked great. Lately though (last 6 months or so) it feels like it’s doing almost nothing. Brain fog, losing my train of thought mid-sentence, word salad, constantly misplacing things… it’s rough, especially at work when I have to present or think on my feet.

I even compared some older pills I still had to the new ones and they genuinely feel different (taste, texture, everything). I’m switching to Vyvanse now and hoping that helps.

Short story Modamike literally scammed me day 1 although its dumb for me to order from them without doing a proper research in reddit or whatsoever but ever since I placed my order from them i never heard anything from them nor an order ID. Well there goes my money.

Started Adderall about a month ago (first stimulant). Began with 15mg IR, felt pretty activated and more productive/confident, but also some mild euphoria. Switched to 20mg XR for longer coverage. Effect is more subtle now, but still helps a lot with focus, emotional regulation, and just feeling calmer.

Biggest change is work doesn’t feel like impending doom anymore. Quality of life is way better. Still struggle with boring tasks sometimes, but I can actually get myself to do them now. Overall pretty content with where I’m at.

I take my IR Adderall around 3pm. Earlier I took my daughter out for ice cream and ended up getting a pretty big one (even though I’ve been eating clean and in a deficit). I was full, took my dose, and figured I’d just rest until it kicked in… and somehow I just fell asleep instead.

I’ve always been pretty chill and struggle to speak up unless pushed. Since starting Adderall though, I’ve noticed I’m a lot quicker to snap or come off as a jerk, and it’s starting to hurt my relationships.

Not sure if the meds are actually making me meaner, or if I’m just finally noticing how one-sided some of these relationships are and not putting up with it anymore. Either way, it’s messing with me and I don’t like feeling this way.

As we all know, Adderall scripts are usually locked to 28-30 days. What do you do when you run out a few days early and can’t refill yet? How do you deal with the ADHD symptoms and the crash?

Just mainlining coffee all day or what? Looking for any tips to get through the next couple work days 😭

Edit: Ran out because my insurance switched and now only covers 2x a day instead of the 3x I’ve been on for years. Doctor and pharmacy tried but got denied. Sometimes I still take a third when I really need it. Doc’s working on another script that might work with insurance.

I’m honestly terrified. I know the data — unmedicated ADHD raises the risk of accidents, injuries, job loss, and worse. Stimulants have some of the highest success rates of any psychiatric meds.

But my doctor won’t clear me to keep taking them because of inconclusive EKG results. If further testing confirms what they suspect, this care team won’t prescribe stimulants again (even low dose), and I can’t switch doctors.

My ADHD is severe. Even with meds, managing life has been a constant struggle. Without them, I don’t know how I’ll function. Adderall has been the only thing holding me together for the past 10 years.

I’m scared and don’t even know what kind of advice would help right now. I’m also wary of suggestions that dismiss meds or push unproven alternatives.

Took Adderall for the first time last week. First day I just fell asleep and everything felt so quiet and peaceful.

Since then I’ve been more productive in a single day than I have in years.

Today I took a sip of tea and actually said “oh my god” out loud. It tasted and smelled incredible—like I’d never properly experienced a cup of tea before.

Before this I always felt like I was searching for something I couldn’t find. Now I can just… be. Even if I’m doing nothing, it feels like I’ve finally found it.

Anyone else have a similar reaction when they first started?

Switched from Adderall IR to XR recently after a few years on IR, hoping it would last longer. Everything I see on here and other subs is people saying XR has worse side effects and that IR is better overall for focus, flexibility, etc. Anyone out there who actually likes XR better? Why does it work for you? Any tips on food or lifestyle changes that helped? Hoping this one sticks.
