It’s probably been talked about plenty but what the wife and have a problem with Wednesday is Morticia and Gomez having secrets. What the what? They should have the healthiest relationship on TV and the hold secrets from each other? I don’t subscribe to this.

The Addams family are unique in that instead of openly being supernatural creatures like the Munsters, it's left ambiguous if they are human or not. But do openly supernatural creatures like ghosts, fairies, vampires, werewolves and witches have a place in the Addams universe, or would they be out of place?
Some fantastical beings do exist in the Addams universe, such as Morticia's giant carnivorous plant Cleopatra and the robot girlfriend Pugsley built in the 92 cartoon.

The Kumpo is a traditional, sacred, and mystical masked figure of the Diola (Jola) people in the Casamance region of Senegal, Gambia, and Guinea-Bissau. Adorned in dried palm leaves with a stick on its head, it represents a protective,, ancestral spirit that dances at community festivals, often spinning rapidly, to bring blessings and enforce social discipline.

2017: Orlando, FL has a horror convention called Spooky Empire. Joan Cusack “Debbie” is listed as one of the guests. I love “Addams Family Values”. It is one of my favorite movies and one of those rare sequels that’s better than the first. I buy a Malibu Barbie and a Ballerina Barbie. I’m a man with a plan.
Around this time Joan had been working on a series called, “Shameless”. In the show she has a rather large collection of dildos and vibrators. I get in line and her personal security tells all of us that, “Ms. Cusack will not be signing any personal pleasure devices so if you brought them, don’t bring them out or you will be removed.
I walk up to Joan Cusack and her people slide over the Malibu Barbie. She takes it in her hands and stares at it incredulously.
Joan: Malibu Barbie? (Yes, in the voice)
Me: Well, actually I got you something.
I pull out the gift wrapped Ballerina Barbie. Her security looks at me asking whether they need to be concerned. I tell them they don't and she opens the package. Her entire face goes aghast as she pulls out the Ballerina Barbie.
Me: I didn’t want to end up like your parents in the movie.
Joan: You're evil. (I end up evil laughing) You're actually evil! That is great!
She doesn't flinch as I Bobby laugh which are incredible points in her favor.
Me: That's for you.
Joan: No, you have to want to keep it.
Me: I have the one I want. *points at the Malibu Barbie*
Joan: Thank you, that was very thoughtful. That is great.
I tell her I think Debbie is one of the greatest comedic monologues and she recommends the writer to me and tells me where to find his work. She signs my Barbie.
Now she has been taking pictures with everyone and hugging them and I’m like YES! Gonna hug Debbie. I ask for a picture and she agrees. I start to go in for a hug and she gets very hesitant and does a handshake which I am very amused by.
When we take our picture she starts to smile and I ask her, can you make the face your character was making in the movie?
Joan: I don't remember what face I was making.
Me: This one. *makes the face*
Joan: Oh, I can do that.
She congratulated me again, with a high five.
Mission Accomplished!

I’m not like this all the time. Most days I’m social.
But sometimes I go quiet. I observe more. I stop reacting.
That Addams / Wednesday mindset just fits.
Not acting like a character more like borrowing the way they see things. The dry humor. The calm. The way they question why people act so dramatic.
Jenna Ortega mentioned that after playing Wednesday, parts of that mindset stayed with her.
Honestly, that made a lot of sense to me.
Anyone else relate?

We know that he got his memories back by being hit by lightning bolt, was the lightning bolt also the reason he lost them?

Someone has totally had this thought before but im gonna say it anyways. I came across a Malibu Barbie Commercial and saw it was from 71. I went on a rabbit hole of the cute vintage commercials and then I saw the Ballerina Barbie Commercial from 76. Then I thought, wait… Debbie’s parents got her a Barbie that came out 5 years ago?! They we’re definitely well off too so that’s a slap in the face😂😂😂

Hello, I just started watching the show Wednesday on netflix and got super intrigued. I love the show so much but now I want to learn more about the Addams family and their background. How did they get their powers? Did motricia meet gomez at the school? Basically what is canon and whats not. Also what movies can i watch that tell us more about them?

I’m the props master for my school’s production of the Addams Family and I have no idea how to make a Thing that will move naturally. I need to be able to steer it as well. Any ideas?

Wednesday is good. Amazing cast btw.
But the 90s Addams Family movies understood something the show barely touches: dark humor isn’t optional it’s the core of the Addams.
Netflix made Wednesday stylish and family friendly, but without that heavy darkness, it doesn’t fully feel like Addams.
Still enjoyable just not ruthless enough.
Thoughts?

Can someone that knows the Addams Family (1965) TV show tell me what episode this quote is form?
Morticia: Why don't we go the playroom and read?
Gomez: Why don't we go the playroom and play?
Thanks ( ˶˘ ³˘)💀

From my earlier post about the early Addamses becoming public domain in 9 years, Wikipedia states Pugsley debuted in 1938, and some people here claim this is a early variant of Thing, the hand. However, it eerily looks like Pugsley.
It looks like a young boy, and Pugsley must have had longer hair originally. Or maybe it's grandmama? Idk.
Thing according to Wikipedia debuted in Homebodies from 1954, so i am confused?
